Hello,
I'm trying to figure out CNC milling process with Eagle. The first step is to get some vector files that I can use in the CNC software I'm the most efficient with which are the software from vectric (no offense here but I found Fusion too confusing for now)

Well the best way I found is to export DXF drawings from the CAM Processor.... but it doesn't work in version 9.6.2 because of the "pad bug" (described in this forum) this have been corrected within Fusion since Eagle has been eaten by big F but... I still don't get all the information I need since soldermask layers are not exported in the dxf.

Also tried DXF export from the file menu which link to a totally obsolete ulp, mill_outline.ulp which generated HPGL with precalculated mill trajectories (I cannot read HPGL with vectric and I do not want precalculated trajectories). Flatcam was meant to do the job from gerber but it doesn't read Eagle Excellon correctly. Some tutorial point to 3D export to render each curve manually which seems a total lost of time and ressources. Printing to pdf have a bug with plan polygon and the filling is done with lines which is a pain to remove.

So the question is : "Is there a simple way to export clean layer vector informations from Eagle ?" if not is it possible to add soldermask to the dxf drawing cam processor ? and even better do you plan to correct this output in standalone version of eagle (even if we add to copy some dll directly from fusion to eagle software)...

Hi @garnav,

 

I hope you're doing well. Try running the dxf.ulp that comes with EAGLE. This one will export whatever layers are currently visible in your layout. That's probably the simplest way to get you what you need.

Actually that's the worst export I can have, totally unusable to generate toolpath. I've tried many option and ulp before going for the CAM Drawings DXF.

Export via PDF printing > generate file based on graphics result, outlines and line width not handle correctly

 

mill-outline.ulp > doesn't handle plane, modify your geometry
