BRD Editor, Selection Filter: Frame & Dimension bug?

Hello Community,

Is this a bug? In board editor, there is a Selection filter. What is selected here, you can select on the board. That is great!

However, If I de-select the Dimension and / or Frame "types", then I am still able to select the board outline on the area.

Isn't it supposed to not select the Dimension layer outlines?

I found out, that if I de-select the Line "types", then I can't select anymore the Dimension's outline. Isn't it controversial?

I know, that it is still a line type, but c'mon. It would be quicker in this Selection Filter to filter some things, instead of using the Lock button.

By the way, what does it do the Dimension and Frame in the Selection Filter?  🙂

Version is 9.6.2

Thank you,

György

Hello @gyorgy_horvath,

I hope you're doing well. When you are going through the selection filter, you are choosing object types. In the 2D PCB there is a dimension command which generates dimension objects, these are affected by the Dimension type in the selection filter. Similarly, there is frame command which generates frames. The selection filter controls the selection of those objects.

For the board outline, it would probably be easier to just deselect the Board outline layer. You can combo object types and layers to make very precise selections.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
