Why does the Standard Edition have only 2 layers and some other questions

I have been using eagle standard edition V6 and V7.

Why does the new standard edition of Eagle V8 have only 2 layers?  The old standard edition had 6 layers.

So far for our designs we have not found the auto-router V6 or V7 very useful.

I also checked out the user manual, hoping to learn more about the new improvements, it looks like just the V7.7 manuals are in the doc directory, what is going on here?

Is there any improvement in the trace length matching for high speed differential pairs?  It looks like it has not changed since V6.6?

Is there going to be any improvement to the libraries?  It looks like there are no new significant components in V8 beyond the V6 and V7 versions.

There does not seem to be any significant changes in V8 from V7.7.

I too was looking to do a subscription on standard, but that will happen IF and ONLY IF the number of layers is returned to at 4 or 6 as it previously was.  I can't justify going to the professional license just to have more than 2 layers.

They have recently announced that the standard version will have 4 layers in the next release which I believe is due out very soon.
