Trouble in lunching Package generator in Eagle 8.7.1

Dear developers,

I have a problems in lunching Package generator in My Managed library to create a 3D package. At web site, there isn't  such a problem, but in application  it shows me "Error: There is a problem running WebGL on this machine".  When I follow link on error message the web page  tells me: "Hmm. While your browser seems to support WebGL, it is disabled or unavailable. If possible, please ensure that you are running the latest drivers for your video card." I do checked my drivers and they are all up to date.  Is there someone else who has such a problem or is it just me?

*9.6.2.
And that this forum thread is linked in the error box instead of a proper page, where I can easily find the information I need is a bit embarrassing.

I solved the issue of running teh command regularly by running the command to run from a shortcut, using the following code.

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "set QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS=--ignore-gpu-blacklist=false && start /D ^"C:\EAGLE 9.6.2\^" eagle.exe"

This runs the same commands as suggested but from the shortcut, I also changed the icon to match Eagle, set the Start Directrory as Eagles, and set it to run Minimised so you don't see the CMD window pop up, you need to change this for each shortcut you have, incuding the ones in the Start Menu.

Addenum: I ran into an issue with Eagle not being allowed access to 'Controled Folders', and is due to a setting in Windows Security.

Thanks Ed. Seems like I had to do all three option you mentioned. Tried option 3 first and it didn't work. When through all 3 options in order. Then after trying the 3rd option again. It worked.

Hello,

I am having the same exact problem, and none of the solutions here worked for me.

I use a laptop to use EAGLE, so I do not have anything to do with what is inside it.

It seems that my computer has two video cards - an Intel HD Graphics 4000 and a NVIDIA NVS 5400M.

Help requested.

Hello,

I'm using Eagle 9.6.2. My computer has Intel Graphics 530. But I have
NVIDIA Quadro K60 Graphics for 3D modeling. Forcing Eagle to use the Quadro
seemed to make no difference. I tried the solutions Ed offered in message
26 one at a time with no result. After I went through each one again, and
then ran Fusion 360 did I get results. I hope this works for you.

paulctan's step by step solution worked for me.

It is not the greatest user experience to get messages like this, but at least the warning box links to this forum... now if the installer would just set that variable we'd be done!

Hello,

The problem persists for me on Eagle 9.6.2. with Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 on Windows 10. I really don't know what to do. I have tried all options on this thread, but I have not figured it out yet. Could you please help me?

Hi,

After successfully using the package editor for a while I stumbled across the same issue. All of the above didn't work for me.

Is there another solution? My system is up-to-date with all latest drivers.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @mdzWUKJ9 ,

I hope you're doing well. In the EAGLE installation directory we ship a README file that covers the solutions in this thread and a few others. Could you check it out and see if it solves your problem?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

yes.... i open eagle, select a device, open in library, then i select library - list of content.... to open the view with 4 column... Device-Rootprint-3d Package-Symbol. You can see that in the background of the screenshot.

Here i select one device at left column, right click on it, "Used 3D Packages", and click on the package. Then the package generator opens with a error-message.

Screenshot attached.

If i use the WebGl.org link then i see a moving box and it says everything should be ok.

Hello @edward_ebay ,

I hope you're doing well. Am I correct in assuming you are on the latest version of EAGLE, v9.6.2? Please confirm what version you are using. The picture doesn't show it.

I'll ping the developers about it anyway just to see if anything is off.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Is there any other choice to edit except the Package Generator?

What i did was simply to add 3D to already existing packages, my only issue is that it is misplaced in the package, needs to move and rotate.

Hello @edward_ebay ,

I hope you're doing well. So the error you have seems to be related to your local computer configuration. By chance does your computer have multiple graphics cards? Sometimes disabling one versus the other allows this to work. You can try checking the 3D model on library.io and see if it looks correct there.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems
