Profile.gbr has an error in 9.4.1

I generated CAM files for a board.  The board shop says there is not outline (Dimension 20).  When I run "GerberLogix" on it it says the profile.gbr is invalid - unrecognized command %IN*%

Attached is the contents of profile.gbr

Hi mcbSRJZ6,

Your participation in the Autodesk EAGLE forum is greatly appreciated. I haven't heard any issues in this regard. Please update to EAGLE v9.4.2 and let us know if the issue persists. The default cam processor templates do not include Layer 20, this can be manually added. Select the profile section of the CAM Job and include layer 20.

Let us know if this helps.

Best Regards,

Ed

@edwin.robledo I think I know what's going on here based on your above statement. The new CAM processor is relying on the detect board shape feature to be enabled in order to be able to add the board shape to the profile without specifically using the Dimension layer. If you turn that feature off and go to the profile setup in the default CAM job, even with "Board Shape" ticked there is no shape showing. I think the CAM processor needs to check that this feature is enabled and if not then grey out that option and include the Dimension layer instead.

@Anonymous You can turn that setting back on in Options->User Interface up in the top "Layout" section:

@edwin.robledo  I think this location for that setting is very misleading. It implies it only affects the UI and specifically the layout of the UI but it does not, it's not UI related, it's design related and should really be somewhere completely different with options which affect the design. I'd actually suggest it be in the DRC setup with all the other options which are design affecting.

Best Regards,

Rachael

Thanks for these answers, I think I'm on my way.

Curious that the dimension layer 20 gerber isn't exported by default since it is needed, at least in my case.

It's only needed if you have the board shape feature turned off. Usually there is no need to turn this feature off so layer 20 is not needed to be explicitly included in the CAM setup. It seems that the CAM setup may not cover the corner case where somebody has turned this feature off for some reason.

Best Regards,

Rachael
