New EAGLE licensing

Hello Everyone,

In this post we will be briefly describing how the new subscription model for EAGLE works.

Firstly, the Autodesk licensing model is subscription based and the EAGLE paid license will require that you install the SW and then generate an account on accounts.autodesk.com to retrieve your license entitlement.

If you lose your network connection, the SW has a 14-day heartbeat that will enable you to work offline for 14 days.

All of your data is stored locally, so you are in complete control of your data.

We will continue to provide the freeware version of EAGLE. In order to use it you will still need to register an account with Autodesk.

In an upcoming release we will be adjusting the software so in the worst case scenario, where internet is unavailable past 14 days, the software will revert to free mode. That way you can always review your designs.

You can review the current EAGLE pricing by visiting this page.

Hello, Simona...
You might be interested in hearing how the Farnell Eagle ordering does no longer work for said Central European countries and many others.

P.S. Belgium is approximately 1/2 europe to the left of central europe. Germany is West.

You have it easy. In Austria, you can buy 1-year Pro licence off Farnell for 460 euro, in much poorer Czech republic next door you have to pay 660 euro.

You have 255 layers as always to document whatever you want.
The first 16 layers are special, because those are considered to be electrically conductive.

I'm glad that you have spent only 1/2 day dealing with this, I spent at least THREE or more.

Yes I know but I use the connectivity to make sure I dont miss a wire. I need it to be connected to the schematic.

Multiple boards which have wiring between them and I use it for assembly manufacturing documents. These are tube amps and a mix of hand wiring and PCB and sometimes all turret or eyelet.

I have never found an easier way to show the wiring and have connectivity but I'm all ears.

Maybe I should have said 1/2 a day "so far"

Why is Eagle Premium $500 before tax in the US and €555 (=$641) before tax in Europe?

28% more for the exact same product?

Hi @mp54de,

I hope you're doing well. Last time this came up I was told to refer users to this link:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support/purchases-returns

I've pinged some of the sales team to see if that procedure is still valid. If anything has changed I'll reply again here.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Eagle licensing is now holding my files hostage, I cannot access my files unless I agree to be tracked on my own computer. It is the epitome of a-hole design. I'm going to have to pay someone to port my boards into kicad. I really wouldn't recommend Eagle for new designs, especially for members of the maker community.
