Large Cursor Ghosting in Eagle 9.1

I just installed Eagle 9.1, running on Linux Mint 18.3, using Intel Sky Lake Integrated Graphics, with a HIDPI display (2880x1620 resolution).

My issue is, that the default cursor in board layout is far to small. It disappear against the board I'm working on.
So I turned on the large cursor, but with that, I get ghosting of the cursor when I move the mouse.

The ghost lines disappear when I update the display by panning or zooming, but it's quite annoying.

Any idea on how I can better control the cursor size?
is there a QtWebEngine parameter I can set?

Hi @jpeterse77,

I hope you're doing well. Go to Options > Set. Make sure that use Alpha blending is checked. Having that option unchecked currently leads to ghosting.

BTW: I really like the changes you are making to Eagle. Kudos for taking on the task of overhauling the interface.

Hi @jpeterse77,

Go into the EAGLE installation folder and look at the readme, try the first suggestion.

export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1
./eagle

This will force software rendering, let's see if the ghosting goes away.

I tried starting Eagle with:

export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 && export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 && /opt/eagle/eagle-9.1.0/eagle &

Still get the same ghosting.
I also downloaded 9.1.1, and I have the same issue with the most recent version.

Hi @jpeterse77,

I've pinged the developers to see what might be going on here. One thing I can suggest is to see if there are any other graphics drivers available for your computer. I run the same version of Mint that you do but I have an NVIDIA graphics card.

Updated to 9.1.2 - issue persists

Large cursor continue to leave a leave a ghost trail when moving the cursor.

And the small (normal) cursor is drawn with so narrow lines, that it completely disappear when moving over components and traces.

Hi @jpeterse77,

I hope you're doing well. With the release of 9.1.2 there are now some HDPI settings that you can control and adjust. In the control panel go to Options > User Interface you'll see them on the middle left. Try different combinations of these. Do any of these combinations resolve the issue?

I tried all combinations of the new options in the option dialog.

But none of the combinations resolve the issue.

I hope you're doing well. Let's try this go into

~/.local/share/Eagle/

Go into the settings folder and rename the eaglerc file to eaglerc_bak or something like that. Make sure EAGLE is closed when you do this. Then start EAGLE and try the large cursor. If the ghosting goes away I'm going to need the eaglerc_bak file to for review.

Renaming the eaglerc file did not resolve the issue.

So it doesn't appear to be an issue with the configuration file.

I'm on a Dell XPS 13 (model 586WPF2) the version with high resolution QHD+ infinity edge display, driven by integrated Intel Iris graphics 540 processor.
