Hi to all,

I'm trying to import OrCad Library into Eagle through my AUTODESK Library.io.

Unfortunately, I cannot proceed, I have imported the OrCads *.olb file, and the conversion is stuck on 0%.

I have done that 3 times and got the same issue, please see the picture below

Thx to all,

Yishai,

Most of the importing stuff is gimmicky at best and likely to not import correct even if it worked. You should just re-draw the part in an Eagle library to guarantee accuracy.

Thank you for your reply,

In that case, do you know how I can delete the uploading file process which appears in my Library.io?

Thank again,

I don't have the answer for that. I don't use ANY online functions or libraries. Everything is local so I have full control of everything. I suggest you do the same.

If the software is just stuck, force-close it using the Windows task manager and load Eagle again.

Thx,

All clear. I can access my library.

I can access my managed libraries simply so that those files I have attempted to convert show on the Library.io web browser process without the ability to delete them.

I only wanted to eliminate those. To eliminate those, annoying that it is there without abling to delete 🙂

I had a quick look. Library.io is just another web site that is part of Eagle for managing your online libraries.

Log in and you will see a list of your libraries. Click the trashcan icon on the far right for that library and it will go bye-bye. If you want to remove just one part in an existing library you will have to edit it locally and re-upload it. I don't see any way to remove individual parts in the online managed libraries. If none of this is what you want upload a screenshot so we can see what you see.

The option of the trashcan icon is not readily available until the conversion process is done.
I assume that library conversion with many items will not work (maybe it's a bug). The conversion succeeded when I made the process with only one component library item.

I opened the one-component library, and all seemed to be ok. The conversion succeeded.

I don't understand why I can not convert the multiply component library.

Try isolating it and make a single component library for each part. Maybe there's something wrong with one of the orcad parts that Eagle can't handle.

Thank you,

Yes, I have done so. It's very frustrating. I have a lot of components in the OrCad library.

Thank you for your support and reply.

Hi @yishai_a,

Would you be willing to share the original library. I can pass it along to our devs and they could possibly analyze what component is tripping up the import.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi @yishai_a ,

I spoke to a developer, he suggested trying to save the library in pre 15.x OrCAD format.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Hi Jorge,

Sorry for the delayed response,
I do not have OrCad 15.x.
I succeeded in converting the lib to REV 16.2. I got the same results during Eagle convertion.
Please see the picture below.

Regards,

Yishai,

Hi @yishai_a ,

I hope you're doing well. It seems that OrCAD changed their lib format so that our importer can't handle it, that's why the developer said to try to get the lib into an older format.

If you can't get it into a pre 15.x format then it seems that for now we won't be able to import it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Jorge,

Thank you, I have done the conversion for each component individually; this way, it does work.

Frustrating, but it works 🙂

Have a great day,

Yishai,

Hi,

It is obvious that it has some compatibility issues. Have you checked the file health? maybe the file you are trying to upload is corrupted or something like that. Try to use the options like KiCad or Altium designer with the same file.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply,

I have checked the file, and it was not corrupted, when I converted only one component, it worked perfectly.

I am assuming that Eagle cannot convert multiple components in the same library.
