Frames in V9.4

Hiya,

I'm struggling with Frames in V9.4.

If I draw a Frame in Board view I can no longer edit it.  This includes move/resize/copy/delete/anything.  I can't select it at all.

Works as intended in Schematic view.

Any ideas?

Yep, if you need to edit a frame, open it up in 9.3.2 until they get that fixed. It looks like frames got missed from the selection filter in the board.

Hey thanks for your report.

As Rachael points out it seems like we missed frames from the selection filter in the board editor.

What you can do now is force enable them with the CLI option: "SET SELECTTYPES ALL;"

We'll make sure to get this fixed ASAP though.

As always, Thank You @rachaelATWH4  :).

Thank You too @Pieter.Jan.Van.de.Maele.  Bit worrying if it's been like this for 9 releases (9.3.2 - 9.4.1) and still not addressed.

It's also a bit worrying I've not designed a PCB since 9.3.2! 🙂

Both accepted solutions 🙂

No, it's not been that many releases! 9.3.2 was the last of the 9.3 line, then came 9.4.0 just a few weeks ago where this issue was introduced. Unfortunately nobody spotted this until you posted up yesterday but not before 9.4.1 was released otherwise they would have got this fixed in that release, anyway now they know about it they'll get is sorted pronto I'm sure Smiley Happy

Rachael

Hi @Pieter.Jan.Van.de.Maele,

The Selection filter for Frames is also missing in 9.4.2 in the footprint editor.  I have standard document frames that I use for A4, A3 and A2.  I can't edit these in the footprint editor because I can't select the frame.

Can you log this for fixing in the next release, please?

Hi,

Do you when this will be fixed? I'm still having issues editing/deleting frames in version 9.5.1.

Hi Aaron,

It seems somehow the frames object has been missed from the symbol editor selection filter! It's been added everywhere else, just not there. I've tested it now and you are right, it's still broken there! I'm pretty sure they'll be able to get this sorted fairly quickly now it's been highlighted!

Best Regards,

Rachael

Has this bug been fixed yet?  I'm having this same issue running Eagle 9.6.2 premium.

Hi @steve_jewell,

I hope you're doing well. This has been fixed I just looked in the schematic and saw Frame in the selection filter.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Jorge, a year later, and the issue is the same: frames are not editable.

There is no "smash" option like there used to be (akin to the AutoCAD command "Explode") which allowed editing.

Frames are present. Frames are not editable. That is the issue.

Hi @ray.jenson ,

I hope you're doing well. Are you pulling in Frames from the library, if you are then these are only editable in the library. In the schematic you can select them by clicking the bottom left corner of the frame.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems
