Uneditable view cube. Model came in wrong.

Preset views are incorrect and uneditable. How can I orient my model/block correctly?

I brought in my model from Inventor as a .dwg file and saved it as a block.  When I saved it, it was oriented correctly, but it came into AutoCAD rotated back 90 degrees on the x axis so the TOP view of the view cube actually shows the front of the model. I have tried many ways to change it and it is not working.

Any suggestions?

My only thought now is to resave it from Inventor in a different view, but this should not be the only way.  I wish it was able to reset the views.  Even if I reorient the UCS icon, it does not save through the whole program. Last time I rotated the model itself to match the cube, but this time it is only rotating horizontally.

Wrong forum.  Best suggestion would be to post in a forum that is in some way associated with your problem.

What would you suggest? I thought this was a forum to discuss AutoCAD blocks?

Apologies. I did not know the rules about asking questions about blocks.

It is a forum for discussing Dynamic Blocks.  As far as I can tell, your UCS/Viewcube issue has nothing to do with dynamic blocks.  If you would like to discuss issues with a Dynamic Block, please post the block file you wish to discuss.

If I can get the orientation to be corrected, it can become a dynamic block. I am making multiple size blocks for these assemblies. It would be great to make dynamic blocks to hold all the size variations, but I must get the orientation correct.

If I rotate the UCS icon or change to WCS it looks ok until I save it. Once it is saved, it snaps right back to the front being shown as the top.

You might think that I am being pedantic but I am actually trying to help.  Posting on the general AutoCAD forum or the Inventor forum would get you better assistance for your UCS/Viewcube issue as it is not a Dynamic Block issue.

I figured it out myself, thanks.

It was actually working once I reset the UCS Name in UCSMAN(ager) . It did not appear to be working because the view did not regenerate. I closed and reopened it and it was corrected.
