stretchable path array that maintains relative orientation of base object

I'm trying to make a block that puts consistently spaced fins on a straight line path, with the caveat that the fins need to remain at 45 deg to horizontal no matter how the array path is stretched. As of right now, the block will put the right amount of fins for however long it's stretched, but the fins stay locked in the orientation from when the array was made rather than rotating to the desired angle. Any advice on how I could fix this?

In order for anyone to offer any useful input you will need to post the block.  Drawn examples within the file of how you would like it to behave vs. how it is currently behaving would not go amiss either.

My bad. The block is attached in the latest form where it behaves like I'd like. When the line associated with Distance1 is stretched in the test block screen, the fin remains at the desired angle relative to the horizontal. Messing around some more, if you add an array action attached to Distance1 and the fin with a spacing of 6.8125", the block breaks when tested.
