I've pretty well mastered stretchable dynamic blocks and I understand the concept of being able to stretch one side and having objects within with their own dimensions to adjust by half of a distance but I don't know how to create and execute.  Would someone be gracious to either do for me or explain the steps?  I've attached my plain block with the 4-ft jog.  My goal is to have the long wall be pulled back 4-ft as the option and have the windows, fireplace, and stretchable dashed ceiling lines recentered in the wall, in concept offset by 2-ft or the like.

Ok you have the move correct. HOWEVER your linear parameter has been set up wrong which is why you get the yellow exclamation mark.

1. Always start a linear parameter from the base of where you want to stretch the objects. In the case of your drawing you should have started the linear parameter at the bottom.

2. In the properties menu of the linear parameter you can turn off grips, so you only show the one you need.

3. Also in the properties of the linear parameter you will see VALUE SET. You can change how the linear parameter stretches here.
