Hi to the community!
I’m a big fan of the forum and have found much help till now, but I've come up with some problems I can't find an answer to, so it was time for my first post.
The strange behavior I’m referring to is that when the start point of a Polar Parameter is stretched by another action: its polar coordinate system seems to be altered in a way I can’t understand…
In the drawing attached I have a block that is part of a much more complex block.
The black base line is attached to a Polar Stretch parameter with Stretch actions and can be freely stretched and rotated by its endpoints. The blue ray’s end point can be polar stretched by its own Polar Stretch parameter, while its start point stay attached to the base line’s center (along with the start point of its Polar Stretch parameter), governed by a set of Polar Stretch actions with 0.5 multipliers attached to the Base polar parameter.
And here comes the strange behavior: For example, from the initial state of the block, when the start point of the Ray’s parameter moves more than 10 points to the right (by moving either end of the Base parameter more than 20 points to the right) the Ray’s angle changes from 0 to 180 degrees! (Note that the start point is still at the left side of the end point). Playing around with the Base parameter’s end points and, in the end, returning them to their initial position changes that point..!
My problem is that the ray has to be able to stretch in different angles limited between 270 and 360 degrees from the right side of the base line. For that, I have set the minimum and maximum values of the Ray parameter, but the altering of the Ray’s angle messes that up!..
Any ideas?
In the drawing attached there are different states of the block. In the rectangle in the 1st column is the block in its initial state. The 2nd and 3rd columns demonstrate the point where the Ray’s angle changes (by moving the right or left end point of the Base line to the right respectively). In the 4th column, after playing around with the Base grips, the point where the angle alters has changed. In the 5th column, after another set of playing around with the Base parameter’s grips I can’t find that point!
