New block definition

Hello,

I am working on my diploma thesis and my task is to read information from dwg file and export them into excel sheets, but there is a problem which I don´t know how to solve. In AutoCAD I created dynamic block named "segment".

Untitled1.png

When I insert this block into drawing and change rotation or length using block actions, then AutoCAD creates new block definition.

Example of new definition you can see on the next picture.

Is there any solution how can I fix that AutoCAD won´t creat that new blocks?

Thanks,

Daniela

No you can't delete that. It's an inbuilt feature of AutoCAD. Anytime you change the details of a dynamic block it makes a "new" block. Otherwise it cannot remember what change you made to the block and will revert to the default block every time you open the drawing

You can use data extraction for what you describe.  It will let you select dynamic blocks and will export information from all the iterations of a specific selected dynamic block despite the individual blocks having the unique names.

Data Extraction could be good idea, but do you know any java library through which I will able to call data extraction function?

Regards,

Daniela.
