Simple Block Table Grip Question.....

Hi all,

I'm developing a set of dynamic blocks via a block table, these blocks will be standard and wont need to be edited after they're created.  I'm having trouble figuring out how to turn off the "Properties Table..." option on the grip drop down.  I've searched around online and this forum with no luck.

Thanks for any help.

You can delete the block properties table grip.  To keep the block properties table from showing in properties, select it in block editor, go to properties, and set 'show in properties' to NO.

This all begs the question though, if you don't want to block to be dynamic, why are you making it dynamic in the first place?

If I am understanding, correctly. You are wanting something like what in my block (attached).

the block itself has a block table, and dynamic properties. but all of the dynamic 'properties' do not show in the properties dialogue. as a tech, I do this to limit the amount of editing others can do while using the block. sure, anyone can go into block editor and change things, but typically, if we are creating them for others, it is because they don't know how.

so my interpretation is, that removing the ability to make property edits, creates a safety blanket to prevent later errors.

attached: simple wood member, with incremental stretch, and a block table that provide member sizing. none of the blocks properties can be changed through the properties dialogue, as all sizes have been predefined.

EDIT: this still keeps the grips. if you get rid of the grips, as Libbya mentioned, it is no longer a dynamic block. sorry for any confusion in my response.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm unable to screenshot what i have or download your attachment at this time.

I'm making a set of dynamic pipe fittings, a specific example would bee a 90deg elbow, i've added all related dimensional parameters and defined them in the block table for multiple different sizes.

When I go to test the block, I'll select the grip and a drop down will be presented with the multiple sizes i defined in the block table. (i.e. 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/2......) at the bottom of that drop down there will be an option to open up the "Properties Table...", selecting this will pull up the block table.

It doesnt seem to let anyone edit the block table from this selection however for beautification purposes i would like the grip drop down to only show the size options.

If this isn't clear i will try and upload a screen shot later tonight.

Thanks again

Nope, there is not any way to turn off the option to see the table with a block properties table. If you have a single row of values for selection then a lookup would display the way you want, showing only the selection options.  A lookup does not allow the nested pulldown menus so if you are using multiple rows in selection it will not be the same.

Post the block file instead of screenshots.
