Scale ruler block linked to Viewport scale so it changes automatically

Hello comunity,

one of my colleagues presented me the other day with a particular challenge. We created a Dynamic block that contains a scale ruler for different scales so when we select a scale this scale ruler is also changed to be consistent.

is there a way to link the visibility state (of the dynamic block Scale Ruler) to a viewport in the drawing so the correct sacel ruler is automatically changed?

im attaching my block for reference

thanks in advance

I know this is not what you want but does keep it to one block, just scale the block to the scale you want and regen.

I know you can link to a viewport via a field inserted into an attribute, EG say you had an attribute next to the scale that showed the scale as text.

You would setup the text as an attribute

Insert a field

Choose "Object" type of field and set the viewport.

Handy if you use the sheet over and over.

This lisp may give you an idea or two.

It changes a visstate based on an attribute value

hello, sorry for the late response... @timothy_crouse  my knowledge of LISP is very limited. I tried your lisp but its reporting me an error when i tried to load it.

by any chance could you modify my original block to work with the lisp you send?

appologies for this request. I understand i should know how to fish 🙂

best,

J.
