rotate constraint hatch issue

I have a block set up for SIP panels that can rotate, lengthen, and widen. the hatch for the block wont rotate with the constraint like it does with a rotate parameter.

is there a way to have the hatch rotate with the block properly?

I'm new to using constraints in dynamic blocks, any feedback is appreciated

Is there a reason why you are set on using constraints rather than dynamic parameters/actions?

I need to have the left/right sides of the block provided be vertical regardless of the slope. I couldn't figure out a way to have them be like that when I change the slope.

I have also tried having all the constraints the same, except a rotate parameter instead of a constraint and it locked up and wouldn't work for whatever reason.

Hi @zweiser,

I've played with your block a bit and have gotten it to rotate the hatch and kept the ends vertical. I used a rotate parameter and gave it 15 degree increments between 315 and 45. Use angle1 (not rotation) under custom in the properties or in the quick properties. Hopefully this is closer to what you wanted.

That's a good reason.  I don't know how to rotate the hatch pattern using constraints.

Did you try the block I uploaded? The hatch pattern worked when I did it.

When I use your posted block it self-destructs.

Hmm, That's strange. I'll have to review it again when I have a moment.

sorry I couldn't get back to here for a bit.

mine doesn't self destruct, it just wont rotate, and gets locked up. this is what I had before i got to my current step in this.

I might just try exploding the line hatches and constraining the lines and use that. I'm stumped otherwise

Create a closed pline border and use an associative hatch and rotate the pline border but NOT the hatch. The hatch will follow the border.

That's not what they are trying to achieve.  They want the hatch pattern to rotate, not just to have the border update associatively.  They also want that to happen using constraints, not dynamic parameters/actions.
