Reorder custom properties?

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello,

After spending a lot of time creating a particular dynamic block, I realized that the order of custom properties of this block as shown in the Properties Palette is not organized in an optimal order.

For example I have "Cabinet Width" at the top of the custom properties list, and "Cabinet Height" way down near the bottom. This is going to make my Cad operators hunt around too much for the property they need to adjust.

The apparent order is by creation - first created custom property is listed first, last created is shown last. I really don't want to remake this dynamic block just to get the properties in a logical order.

I was wondering if it is possible to reorder the custom properties as shown in the properties palette? Any ideas out there? Perhaps an AutoLisp solution?

Thanks,
Steve Doman

I see what you've done, not quite what I was looking to do but I was able to adjust it from there. I would still like to know how and why the attribute order, when changed, would fix the circle to the reference attribute and relocate it when all that it's suppose to do is changed is the order that they are listed in the properties.

Did you have to remake the attributes or do something other than reestablish the parameters? I've tried various things to correct it and I could always start from scratch and make the attributes in the order I want them listed but why have a tool to reorder them that doesn't work?

Sorry, but I just realized you made this block no longer annotative which makes it useless. Not quite a fix for me.

Go into the block. Call up the properties and change it to annotative. See the image below

Great!

I had the same problem as mreineman, where I could not assign an Order to text items. I did know about the Parameters Manager

Based on your Solution, I opened the block in Block Editor, and right-clicked on the attribute, but nothing happened.

Then I realized I needed to change my Options for my right-click to "Shortcut Menu" instead of "Repeat Last Command".

(Now I am remembering that simply holding the right button down will bring up the list. I never do that, but I may start.)

Cheers!
