Hi,

Is it possible to add multiple basepoints in a dynamic block. These work great as "connectors", when you're doint plant layouts like we do.

ie adding a basepoint in both ends of a conveyor would be nice

Nope.  The basepoint parameter defines the origin of the block once it is inserted.  You cannot have more than one origin within the block.  You can add as many point parameters as you like, though, and for what you're describing that sounds like it would fit the bill.

When you are inserting a block watch the command prompt, it gives you the option to select Basepoint, choose this and the block freezes on screen so you can select any point you want to use as the insertion point, once inserted the block still shows the normal insertion point when highlighted, but you can also set the variable "gripblock=1" which will then highlight other grip points when a block is selected.

Additionally to what Libbya said, when you use Point parameters you will need to add an action to the parameters (Move) to make the parameter grip visible when selecting the block after it has been inserted.

The advantage of using Point parameters (besides that you can place them at any random location inside your block) is that during the INSERT command, when you need to pick an insertion point, you can cycle through the Basepoint and all Point parameters with the CTRL-key one by one to choose which one you will use as the insertion point.

Optionally you can also draw Points (as in drawing object and not a parameter) on the same location in your blocks as the Point parameters, so you are able to snap to them with the NODE object snap as well.
