Line Block with text for Road Names/ Lanes

Can someone show me how to create a Dynamic Block for a line with text above and below it? Id like to be able to create the line and be prompted for what I'd like line 1 and line 2 say. I'd like to be able to stretch either edge independently and I don't need the text to be centered within the line length, it just needs to be parallel to whatever angle the line is. I found something thru forums but its missing a few of these details and I'm not sure how to reconfigure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The block you have attached would be cumbersome and irritating in actual use.  I made a screencast of how to make a simpler and more user friendly version.  I also show how to keep the text centered if desired.  Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks for the help Libbya. I started over from scratch to follow you, but now my Text is not editable. How do I fix that? There are also times where the 2nd line for lanes is not needed, is that able to be blank?

For the text to be editable it needs to be an attribute definition.  ATTDEF is the command that creates attributes.  Each attribute needs its own unique tag.  In order to move dynamically it needs its property Locked = Yes.  If you want the dialog to pop up requesting the attribute values when the block is inserted then Preset = No.  If you want it editable Constant = No.

It's a bit fiddly. If you stretch the left line first and then shrink the right the text will be outside the line, but I think the attached is what you're looking for.

How would I add a move feature where the text can be moved along the line?

Hi,

I have created the two block. One with which you would be able to move both the attribute together and another one with individually(see attachment).

your block is what I'm after but if you stretch the line, it wont allow you to pull the text past the midpoint of the line
