issue with dynamic door block actions

Anonymous

I already created a dynamic block of a door with a frame, an arc for the opening direction and handles. Everything works just fine until the block gets stretched via stretch action grip. The stretching causes the flip grip to move out of the correct position (midpoint of the door) as displayed on the Screencast.

I tried playing around with the stretch and flip actions changing the stretch frame and selecting different objects, but I just can't get it done right.

Any hints or help appreciated.
Many thanks in advance

Please backsave the block so I can open it in 2017 and repost.

Here we go...

I added another flip parameter/action for the door location and now the result is a total mess as you can see instantly when opening the drawing.

This might help.

Thanks!

I'll take a look at your Screencast and try to reproduce the steps.

Meanwhile...

Could you or anybody tell me what exactly the "stretch frame" is for

I don't fully understand the concept behind stretching of a block or object.

Let's go for the block now:

1. Select parameter - obvious

2. Select parameter point to associate with ... - seems logical too

3. Specify first corner of stretch frame ... - this is what I don't understand

4. Select objects - seems logical too

Since I select the objects to be stretched in Step 4. - What is the stretch frame good for?

Hope someone can explain this to me.

Thanks in advance

The stretch frame determines what parts of an object will be stretched by the action.  For example if you have a line or polyline within the selection set of a stretch action, then the vertices within the stretch frame are stretched and the vertices outside the stretch frame are not stretched - with the exception that if ALL vertices of an object are outside the stretch frame the entire object is moved.
