Hatch difficulties in dynamic blocks behaving differently

I am creating a library of 100 dynamic blocks, but have had to stop because of difficulties with hatch patterns.  In previous discussions, I was advised to use annotative hatch patterns to allow stretching of the block.  Therefore I tried to make annotative hatch patterns for all the blocks.  But I have several difficulties, as shown in the right block below, namely:

1. All the hatch patterns were created with Annotative, but upon closing the block and reopening, most of the annotative have returned to associative. Do I need to use Annotative in blocks not stretched?

2. In editing, the hatches keep coming up in the display order so I have to run HatchToBack every time.  Why are they coming forward?

3. I also added layer TA-EQPM-SYMB-HIDD with color 255 for all the blank areas in the block so nothing shows thru the block.  Previously I tried to use wipeouts on this layer, but the wipeouts had to be sent to the back after each HatchToBack, which was very complicated.  The HIDD layer works, if I can just solve the other problems listed above.

I wanted to try using some additional controls, so redrew the block--block on the left, so entered following variables prior to hatch:

1. HPANNOTATIVE (1)

2. HPDRAWINGORDER (1)

3. HPBOUNDRETAIN (1)

I created the block on left, but it does not show the hatch patterns on the floor plan. I edited the hatch patterns with HATCHEDIT because I missed a couple of layer names.  Still no change. So I started over again and just created with the defaults of HATCH except always selecting ANNOTATIVE. Still does not show.

I can't figure out what is the difference in these 2 blocks.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,

Thanks for mentioning but you didn't have to.

I opened you drawing and just ran attsync. Hatches updated correctly.

I copied the block to my drawing and tried combinations. It works very well.

Have you tried attsync?

Cheers

Hi again,

For the item 2, the sending to back, which shows in front again, It happens to me too. I believe what you send back goes to back but you just see them in front when you open the block. If we had regen in block editor view, we could do regen and things would go to real order.

By the way, why while playing with the block I found a little error. See picture a. On the left is block after reset. at the middle is in circle view and rotated. Now, when you go to square view you see your square is rotated.

See picture B. I changed hatch properties to see what is happening. Note that by selecting the Rotate Centre, you see Square is in selection group of it which shouldn't.

I removed it from that selection set and it works (Last picture)

Keep in mind, you have set the layer "TA-EQPM-SYMB-PATT" not to be printed. So you won't see hatches in prints.

Cheers,

I was remiss in not trying Attsync, but it is very strange that this effects hatch patterns, not attributes in this case (274100-008-ID SPKR2). Note, however, that this does not work on the block on the left (274100-008-ID SPKR).  The hatch patterns are not showing in any of the layouts.  I even created a new Layout1 and it still did not show hatch patterns.  However, they all appear on the model view.  Any ideas why the hatch would not show.

I have attached a copy of my revised block (274100-008-ID SPKR), which has the rotation issue corrected--that was my mistake when I was getting frustrated. I renamed the block on the left in my Floor Plan Test Errors to 274100-008-ID SPKR4 and inserted this new block. I still does not show hatch patterns.

BTW: Did you know this rotation error can also be caused by not correctly updating a Move Action for a Point Parameter?  I think I should post a solution which I found for this problem.

Another serious clarification I need is does it matter which kind of hatch I use in creating dynamic annotative blocks? Can I use the default Associative except when I am creating blocks with Linear Stretch of Scale?

Thanks for your assistance again.

"It does not show in block editor mode but it will show when you close it. If it doesn't, try sending the hatch under and also bring the speaker hatch above. Then try."

Thanks for your assistance again.

You are welcome and I am sorry if I was't much of a help.
