Dynamic Title Blocks and how are they created....

I remember seeing somewhere, a tutorial about Dynamic Blocks and they touched on a Dynamic Title Block.

My questions is, How was that set up?

I cant find anywhere about how to program a title block to have a pulldown that would adjust a company's mailing address, and in our case, a CAGE CODE number.

Is this done using an excel spreadsheet?   How is it linked to the title block?

One of my own personal goals has been to create a title block that is "adjustable" - for lack of a better term - to where the design center is.

Here's an example of a drop down list that you can use in a title block, it uses a lookup (not links to anything), you need to regen after making changes

I would think that the block you describe would best (most simply) be made using visibility parameters.  Basically, you draw each "version" of the object(s), while assigning visibility states to the objects which represent the different versions. Then the user simply selects the appropriate version using the drop-down arrow control.

"Is this done using an excel spreadsheet?   How is it linked to the title block?"

No, Excel is not necessary. Any sort of "lookup" functionality of a DB is stored in the DB itself. (But there are cases where information in an Excel spreadsheet can be copied into dynamic block tables.)

We do something similar in our title blocks for the info of the professional signing the plan. (name, profession, license #)  I made it using a block table that supplies values to two block attributes.

Do you have an example that you could share?

Select the border then look to the right side.

There is a visstate control.

Is this something your trying to do, have different object visibility states ?

Best Regards
