Dynamic stretch affecting polyline thickness

Hi,

I hope somebody can help.

On the attached:

A. This represents 2 Lighting Columns (Red) situated on a footpath (White) connected by Cables (Blue). I want to be able to extract the lengths of Cable to a excel sheet.

B. So, I have created  blocks to represent the Cables (continuous polyline) with stretch parameters and a Length field in the attributes. This works fine in example A.

Because the radius of the footpath in this example is larger than the radius in A, I added a 3rd stretch parameter on the radius.

C. I can get the desired effect, the radius increasing and by stretching the horizontal and vertical stretch parameters can get the cable to fit between the Lighting Columns.

However, the thickness of the polyline is also increasing.

I haven’t added a scale parameter.

So, does anyone know why the thickness is being affected by the stretch parameter?

Thanks in anticipation.

Post your drawing. We cannot determine what is happening just by looking at an image

I thought that was the problem. I just needed the drawing to confirm it. It's the SCALE parameter that you are using to make the arc larger. It will work on all aspects of the polyline e.g. if you have a polyline of 1 thickness and "scale" it x2 the thickness will now be 2.

I would suggest if you have full AutoCAD looking at using constraints to keep the polyline the same thickness
