Dynamic blocks with different "x" and "y" values

I created a dynamic block of a section view of a storm drain clean-out box with two parameters. One to stretch in the "x" direction and one to stretch in the "y" direction. If I insert the block with a "x scale of 1" and a "y scale of 2", I lose the dynamic parameters... Is there a way to fix it so I don't lose those parameters?

It works correctly for me.

Are you sure you not inserting the nested version you posed?

Here is is in a form you can insert and find that it works.

Timothy... thank you for the response... if you look at the properties of the two blocks shown in the drawing I posted, you will see they are the same block with just a different "y" scale... the block with the "y" scale of 2 does not show any dynamic links. if you change the y scale back to one, the links show back up. is there a way to have dynamic links if the block is not a uniform scale?

No.  Quite simply Dynamic Blocks lose dynamic function unless they have a uniform scale.

I understand now.

You could get a bit creative with the dynamic functions and stretch the Y twice the X with a single linear control.

Or use a lookup table to enter the values.

Was the goal of the Twice the Y scale on an insert operation for speed and simplicity or was there a bit more to it?

Are the sizes pretty standard or is this to be a universal fit?

Best Regards
