Dynamic blocks not saving to earlier CAD version

I'm working with Auto CAD 2011 and a client has sent me a file with dynamic blocks saved down from a 2016 version.  The block geometry is not saving down, the file shows a mess of geometries were there should be simple furniture blocks.   Anyone know of a work around? Is there a way to save a 2016 file with dynamic blocks down to 2010 version without loosing the blocks?

I've backsaved countless dynamic blocks without issue and have used countless backsaved blocks without issue.  I'm not sure what process is being used but the process can certainly work.
