Dynamic block with block unit undefined after stretching

All,

I am new to dynamic blocks and have searched the forum for this problem that I am experiencing and do not see anything similiar.  I have created a miscellaneous block that has width and depth stretchable.  We also have a reader program that reads the attribtes of all the blocks to ease the look up of the attributes that we use for the regular blocks.

My problem is that when I insert this dynamic block and stretch the width and depth of the block, run a regen command to get the dimensions attributes updated, the reader program will not read the block attributes.  After I did some search, I found out that when I used the command "resetblock" then the dyanmic block can be read.  So the problem is not in the reader program.

Trying to figure out the difference, I used the data extraction from the Tools menu to pull the attribute data out of the drawing for each case.  The only difference is that the block unit is "undefined" when the parameters are stretched.  I checked the dynamic block which is created with the block unit in "inches".  So far I am unable to determine the cause of this change in units and be able to keep the block units in inches after streching the parameters.

I would grealy appreciate any help to fix this isssue.

Attached is a drawing with the block Drawing1.dwg  and an extraction spread sheet with the block information in both cases as Drawing1_test.xls.

"...and be able to keep the block units in inches after streching the parameters"

Is it necessary for the block units to be defined as inches?  (Your attributes would display the same info either way, right?)

Have you tried re-defining the block as unitless?  (I can do this here, but I can't easily test the effect on your reader.)
