Drawing Legend Customization / Checklist

Hello all,

I would like to be able to create a drawing legend which is customizable depending what is shown on the drawing. For example (see photo attached),  if I wasn't using a greater site boundary development line in my drawing that I would simply be able to untick a box and it would disappear from the legend and move the remainder of the items below up to keep equal spacing. 

I am unsure whether this can be done with AutoCAD commands or would require a .lsp file. Something similar to the screenshot "Checklist AutoCAD".

I would personally create a dynamic block with visibility states for the legend and also separate layers.

There are most likely easier and quicker ways to achieve your needs.
