hi

I  JUST CHEEKED YOUR BLOCK

1-SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO INSERT THE  NEW BLOCK  TO YOUR FILE. TO SEE THE ACTION.

2- FLIP WORKING WELL

DOOR.JPG

3- YOU NEED A LOT OF CORRECTION.

4-SEE DOOR BLOCK AS ATTACHED (ITS EXIST ON AUTOCAD CORE)  AND COMPER WITH YOURS.

GOOD LUCK

Hi,

i remake my block and all goes fine except only when i flip. I can't figure out which parameter not to include with the flip action. I create also a parameter point to separate the action which help my block but it seems this is not enough. Please find the new attached file.

regards,

mk

Your block seems to behave mostly correctly.  The flip works fine and the various stretch actions work fine before and after the flip.  The only real issue I see is that the arcs do not scale exactly right.  That brings me to the main issue I see.  The geometry itself does not seem correct to me.  In reality, the door panel always rotates around the center of the hinge pin.  That is not how you show it, and consequently, your open positions do not appear correct, nor do the swing arcs.  It seems to me that the geometry should be corrected before attempting to correctly scale the arcs.

Hi,

I tried to redraw the geometry accordingly but the scale is not exactly, however its better than the previous one. is there something need to adjust in order to correct the arc scale exactly.

It is a complicated block and certainly difficult to get the scale/angle/position of the arc correct.  The difficulty comes from the fact that the arc actually needs to scale and also rotate slightly because of the offset pin location.  A polar parameter between pin and corner of panel along with a polar stretch and scale for the arc accomplishes the correct scale, move, and rotate.  I have gotten the left arc correct, but have not had time to get the right arc correct.  I also do not think that the current setup will still be correct after using the flip, but I haven't even tried.  I thought you might find it useful at this point, though, and might want to see if it can be applied to the other arc.

Hi,

My block are nearly finish and every action goes well even though my geometry for swing are quite wrong coz' instead  of pivoting in center of the the hinge i used the edge of the door. Anyways, what i can't figure out is adding another flip in "X" axis. I tried so many  variation but i can't get through of it. Kindly have a look and see what i am missing.

MK.

I played with this quite a bit and I have been able to get the two arcs to scale accurately until they are flipped.  After that it does not display correctly.  There are also issues caused by moving the base point parameter (despite using the chained point/move on it).  It would be possible to add another 'flipped' set of visibility states and then use a double lookup to switch to the flipped state when the flip is activated.  That would allow everything to work accurately.  That is a complicated solution to implement but is what I show working in this vid.  I have attached the block.  I only did the detail w/ architrave visibility state(s).  It is quite a complicated block that uses several fairly obscure techniques.  Let me know if you have questions on it.

Hi,

Awesome!!! I'm gonna love this obscure techniques...its really complicated but helpful to learn new things.

I'l make the rest of my visibility and if I encounter problem, i'l get back to you.

I am very thankful once again for this new techniques.

MK.

Hi All,

I'm having a problem trying to create a double dynamic block as well... Trying to follow the screencast from another post but without any explanation (the video is on mute)...I can't produce the same actions...can someone help me with this please. Either provide me a step by steps action or a new screencast with an explanation would be appreciated.

I had attached the double door: the left is the one I would like to make something similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk0lYt3whHA&t=39s

I know I could download the share version from the description but I like to know how to do it myself.
The attached file also contains another double door version that I created but it's not that great compare to the youtube one...

Thks in advance for your help!
