Door shutter dynamic block

Hello everyone.

I started to play with dynamic blocks, and after doing some simple works, I decided to raise difficulty level a little bit (bit to mutch ;)).

I want to create dynamic block for a door, with door closer installed, to sumulate the mechanism arm angles, for difrent door angles. I want to make the door open to max 90 degree.

I've took a detail of a closer mechanism from one of the manufacturers Library, started testing... and got stuck. Not as simple as making doors and windows change width 😉

So...

the shutter mechanism is fixed to the frame, and does not move. It has an arm 1, that rotates (at diffrent speed than the door leaf).

Arm1 is connected to arm 2, that travels with the door with one end attached to Arm1 and other attached to the door leaf.

This might be a littlebit to ambicious for a newbee, but insted of giving up I would love to learn how to make it work

Thanks in advance for any help 🙂

I believe this is one of the rare cases where constraints can accomplish what dynamic parameters/actions cannot.  Be careful with constraints, though, as they cause many problems when used unnecessarily.

As an aside, one VERY useful modification to dynamic blocks would be to implement a 'distance modifier' option to rotations.  If that were available I could do this block without constraints.

WOOW!

Thank you Libbya, this is Awesome!

Bit difficult for a newbe, but great practise no less 🙂

Thank you!

Have a great day! 🙂

Glad to help.  Just to add info, it would also be possible to make the block function properly if an increment is used on the rotation along with a double lookup.  I was unsure if an increment was acceptable and IMO, that method is more advanced than the use of the constraints.
