Creating Wipeouts for Dynamic Blocks

I have created a simple dynamic block, in the form a rectangle, that needs to be stretched along its length.  This shall be used to represent many different pieces of cut pipe.  I wish to then create a wipeout behind the rectangle.

What i'm struggling with is making the wipeout polygon follow the rectangle as its length is stretched, i.e I wish to constrain the wipeout polygon to the rectangle.

You can use a stretch parameter to control a wipeout in a dynamic block, but not parametric constraints. Use an associative hatch with color 255 instead.

Understood.  When using your hatching solution, how can I show the hatching (on screen) but prevent the hatching from printing?

To see the hatch but not plot it, put the hatch on a no plot layer. Since it is an associative hatch make sure the linework around it doesn't go to the noplot layer also.

Hello @leekennewell 

 

Put the hatch on a separate layer with true color set to 255,255,254, so it plots white and will not be visible on the print 🙂
