Counting dynamic blocks

I have multiple dynamic blocks on a space that represent spaces of varying sizes.

I would like to use BCOUNT to run an inventory of them, but this is the response I receive:

Command: BCOUNT

Initializing...
Press Enter to select all or...
Select objects: 1 found

Select objects:
No valid objects selected.

Does BCOUNT work for dynamic blocks?

Hi,

Just to remind that at the Select objects prompt use a selection method to select the blocks that you want to itemize, or press Enter to include all block references in the current drawing. else try to use SELECTSIMILAR command line.

When SELECTSIMILAR is used on a dynamic block it will only select iterations of the block that have all parameters exactly matching the selected block.

QSELECT will select all iterations of a given dynamic block.

You can also use data extraction.

I found that SELECTSIMILAR works for dynamic blocks that have the same dimension width ...

but if they are have a different width quantity ... then they are not recognized

also on the command line I only had a value of one block ... eventhough I had copied two additional ...

...but it is a new command that I can utilize

Yes ... I also found that qselect does identify all the blocks regardless of the parameters....

... I have also found that the correct quality is listed ...

One additional question ....

... when I have a repetitive row (or column) or these spaces ... I like to use the array command to distribute them

...  but these blocks are not counted since they are (like a second tier or nested blocks within the array)

... I am assuming that I must dissolve the array (explode) if I want to include these in the quantity ...

... is that the case?

I have never used a data extraction, but I definitely would like to link these spaces to a table so I can have an up to date tally of spaces and square footages.

The suggestion to use Data Extraction is actually more of what I wanted to achieve.

try placing a block inside the object that is being arrayed. it is easy to count the number of your count blocks.
