Can't move exploded blocks & delconstraints command not available

I've been creating a dynamic block library at work but have encountered various incompatibility problems.

Whilst I have a single seat of AutoCAD 2016 available to me for the creation of the blocks, I have to make the block usable to everyone else who only have a core (oem) version of 2010 available to them at this time.

The problem I'm experiencing is when the blocks have been exploded, the constraints are still active which results in not being able to move the exploded elements of the former block around the drawing. I can get around this on 2016 using the "delconstraints" (DELCON) command, sadly nobody else can do this as DELCON is to recognised in Core version of 2010. The only way (that I've found so far) for them to delete the constraints is to right click on each one in turn & select delete. As you can imagine the time it takes to delete all the constraints manually is defeating the purpose of using the dynamic blocks in the first place.

Does anyone out there know of a command, either built in or more likely a third party downloadable tool, that can stand in for DELCON ??

Whilst I hold out little hope of solving this, any feedback or workaround ideas will be gratefully received.

Hi alemo3917,

I know it's a silly question, but... Did you try to use the "_delconstraint" command, writing it extensively at the command line, and not using the "delcon" alias?

In AutoCAD 2010 full it does work.

By the way and just to know: which is your AutoCAD OEM distribution?

Hope this helps,

Giancarlo

Giancarlo,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did indeed type the full command name, to no
avail.

We run something called Multisuite 2011, but I'm pretty sure it runs on the
2010 oem version, as they only update it every 3-4 years. I thinks there's
a later version available that runs on the 2015 oem, but I don't think
we're getting the upgrade. Even if we did, I doubt it'd have the command in
that either. As you correctly pointed out, the command's been available
since 2010 (full version), they just choose not to include it in the oem
release. Use of dynamic blocks is supported, but creating and editing is
not, hence my use of 2016 to make them.

Hope this clarifies my situation.

Alan,

at this page I noticed that an update of Multisuite is available:

http://www.multisuite.com/customer_download.htm

don't know if it will fix your problem, but maybe...

Maybe you should ask in the .NET forum to build a solution with the correct SDK.

Hope this helps,

Giancarlo

I'll have to take that up with the IT department.

Thanks for your efforts.
