Block with Stretch to Base Geometry & Variable Pitch Array

Can't seem to find exactly what I want (assuming it's possible).

I have a simple dynamic block for a column, with variable X & Y dims via a stretch.

I want to array that on a rectangular grid, but retain the ability to change the X & Y dimns of the column.

Is it possible & if so, where should I be looking, functionality wise?

Attached is my starting point.

If I understand correctly, you want to make a rectangular array with set column/row spacing but with the ability to adjust the X or Y dimension of all of the columns at once.  Yes that is possible.  If you want to adjust the column/row spacing, though that gets a lot more tricky.

If you want to be able to adjust the X Y of individual columns, that's not really going to happen.

Thanks.  I followed your video & got it working, but the hatch doesn't stretch in the arrayed items (only the original).

Is that expected?

Also, I don't want to adjust individual values for X & Y, but I do want to adjust the Row & Column offset figures.

Is this possible?

The hatches will all adjust if you select the array grip again and then select the same point.  It is a glitch with arrayed associative hatches.

It is possible to add a visibility state for each column or row offset with a new array, but that can become cumbersome in a hurry.  It is also possible to have a faux array with a new visibility state for each additional arrayed item possibility but that can also get cumbersome in a hurry.  It is not possible to have infinitely adjustable dynamic array column/row offsets AND be able to adjust the XY of the columns.  You can have infinitely adjustable column/row offsets with an array using constraints and formulae, but you then will be unable to adjust the XY of the columns.

OK, thanks.

It's probably easier at this stage to set up blocks with the spacings I want - there won't be too many of them.
