Hi All,

I keep trying to edit a block and we received and we even recreated it making a new block and we can not edit either one of them.  We have the block edit set to 0 but it continues to say read only. Help please?

"We have the block edit set to 0"

Please explain what this means.

When BLOCKEDITOR variable is set to 0 (zero), this means the Block Editor is not currently active. (It indicates that the variable itself is "read only", not the block.)

Select the block, and use the right-click menu to select the Block Editor command.  If it's not a dynamic block, you can use Refedit (Edit block in place) as an alternate.

when we right click it block editor is not an option and it doesn't allow us to do the edit in place either when we type the command

Is the block an 'anonymous' block?    Does its name begin with * ?

Being able to see what you see is extremely helpful to people who are trying to provide remote assistance.

First, type on the commandline BEDIT, hit Enter, select the block, and hit Enter. Report the results. (Attach screenshots or copy/paste the text of the commandline history.)

Next, type on the commandline REFEDIT, hit Enter, select the block, and hit Enter. Report the results. (Attach screenshots or copy/paste the text of the commandline history.)

It would be helpful also if you could post a sample DWG file containing an insert of the block.
