Autocad 2024 dynamic blocks bug?

Hi all,

While working on a few dynamic blocks earlier I noticed what I think might be a bug: while inside the block editor, I like to keep all my elements as "by block" regarding color, line weight and line type. Then I exit the block editor, save the block, save the drawing and close.

Upon re-opening the dwg, the line weight automatically switches to "by layer".

This has occurred repeatedly with all the dynamic blocks I have been through all morning.

Is this a bug?

Done it again just now.

I opened a block from the list of usual suspects, made sure everything is "by block" then exported to a new dwg (export). Upon opening the exported drawing, line weight went back to "by layer".

Are the lines in the block drawn in layer zero (0)?
When pasting a block, all lines on layer zero get set to the currently selected layer

Yes, the whole block geometry (lines, hatches, etc) is in layer "0" except for some placeholder lines which are in "defpoints".

Is there a reason for this?
