Attribute Extraction in Visibility States

Greetings!

I am working with a dynamic block that has an attribute, and has two visibility states.

I would like the attribute to only be visible in one state, but I want the data to still be extracted regardless of the visibility.

If I use visibility states and hide the attribute in one of the states, AutoCAD does not extract the attribute data.

I realize that I could make a second attribute for the second visibility state, and set it to invisible, but since they have to be named differently they will not extract into the same column.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this, or perhaps another way other than visibility states?

Thanks in advance!

Only other thought is that you can have one Atrrib populate another thru the use of Fields.

In this way one could be made invisible and still be used to Extract.

But the issue that you bring up about the extraction populating another column would still be...

Assuming that you do not want to keep two extraction files and also keep up with which one to use when.

Thanks for the reply.

The goal is to have the same attribute visible in one of the visibility states, so extracting from an invisible attribute in both states isn't an option...

Hi Charles,

Thanks for the reply. I will pass on the idea and see if two columns is acceptable since their doesn't seem to be a way to extract to one...

Thanks!
