Arrow doesn't work properly

Ok I've got a dynamic block of an arrow in the shape of a U

What I want to do is stretch and rotate the legs, but I want to use polar parameters and have the parameters move with the correct leg.

AARGH trying to explain it is a pain.

The green arrow works how I want it to. HOWEVER a rotation and a stretch are inefficient.

The white arrow shows the problem. Have the properties open and stretch the vertical leg by itself. You'll see I've labelled an angle ANGLE CHANGES. Even though there is no movement of the horizontal grip.

The drawing should hopefully better show what I'm waffling about

Let me know if this will suffice.

Having a quick look at your screencast. Unfortunately it looks almost exactly like my working block (which has separate polylines for each part of the arrow). That's not what I'm trying to aim for. I'm trying to aim for one complete polyline so there are no awkward breaks in the extension lines

I thought you might say that.  The solution for a single polyline is more complex and I figured I'd try the easy way first.  Here's how to do it with a single polyline.

Great. I shall be able to update my arrow.
