Annotaive attribute inside non-annotative block / xref not adjusting

Hello,

I inserted an annotative attribute inside of a non-annotative block. It's working fine in the host file, and as well in the viewports. But, as soon as I xrefs the drawing inside of another, it doesn't work anymore (yes, the scale between the two drawings are the same).

I just can't understand the behavior, and maybe it's super simple and it's a simple variable to turn on ? But, i tried everything : from reloading the xref, attsync the new attribute, remove the objectscale, and adding it back again. I just can't seem to make it work.

This screenshot below shows 2 blocks that are working (even if they are xref'd, and the 3rd to the right isn't but has also 2 anno. attributes. Everything is the same in the properties, and setup the same way.

Any help will be very welcome.

David

Are those missing attributes on a layer that is frozen in the dwg it's referenced into?  Are the annotative scale names spelled exactly alike in each drawing? A missing underscore or dash or space in the name makes it a different annotative scale.  Or maybe you can post the dwgs that aren't working.

Thank you for answering.

I'll hand over my files. This is a small scale test, but this problem currently happen at a large scale within a complexe projet with over 900 instances of the block. I have to quickly fix the problem and find solution.

A is referenced into B. For an odd reason, B doesn't show attitubes in A in the model as well as in the viewport of B. But, is working fine in it's original drawing A. God knows.

Good luck and thank you for helping,

David

Your block is a dynamic block. I don't have lots of experience with dynamic blocks but there is a dynamic block forum HERE where you may find someone that can help you.

Hello David,

The reason the attribute(s) won't show up in the x-ref is because some of them are set to multiline text. Actually they will show up in the x-ref at the scale that was current when the block was created but none of the others. They'll also show up when ANNOALLVISIBLE is on. The ones with single line text are working as expected at all the scales assigned to them.

I created a test block with single and multiline attributes, x-refed it and it behaved exactly like yours so it seems like a bug or glitch. My block was just the attributes, none of it dynamic.

I came to the same conclusion as yours. I have been able to make it work with non-multilines texts when I switch it to normal attribute.

I really need to make a background behind my text, do your guys have some workarounds ? Because, I was using multilines for that only reason.

Multiline text attributes in a block that was x-refed did work until AutoCAD 2020.  Not sure why they don't now
