Can't copy or snap-on certain lines

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am trying to work on a floor plan that was e-mailed to me by an architect. I converted the file to AutoCAD 2012, through DWG TrueView 2016, to be able to open it.

I can't seem to be able to use any commands on certain lines. The only thing I can do is select them.

If I try to move, copy or snap-on the lines nothing happens.

The layer is not locked or frozen.

How can I fix it?

Accepted solution

Looks like all the AEC content is still in the file: walls, doors and so on. These are not accessible to edit if you are not using the program the architect used.

I suspect you did not choose some of the correct conversion options in the viewer. See attached

Thank you so much for that!!

Did not know we had to save and choose options in the viewer.

Any idea where I can find that info for next time?
