Honey Combe in Tube

Hi ALL,

I am new in this community, so take it easy on me ...

I stuggeling with a design and I need some help to get on.

The case is that I like to draw Honey Combes in a Tupe and that they fit perfectly in the Tube.

The messurements are Honey Combe diam: 2.5 mm Tube ø78 mm.

As you will see in the picture is that I started to drw the Honey Combes, but I stuck with it to get them fiting in the Tube.

Also a lot of white dots are marking the ends and I can't deselect them?

I would appriciate your help ... by the way, I am from Belgium, it is possible that my English is diffrent in expression that yours.

I can't figgerout how to post a design directly from the apllication Fusion 360 to work to getter ... But I think that I first need a contact to do so.

PS. I need this design for 3D printing.

If I understand you correctly you want to trim the honeycomb.

Hit the T key and left click drag over all the parts of the honeycomb outside the inside circle.

You could share this design and I could make a video showing this to you.

That looks easy ... it looks always easy when some one else is doing it right.

How can I share my project with you?

let me know and I will be in conract with you ... don't forget the I live in W-European (Belgium) time is now 17.40 PM, that is about 6 hours earlier comparing New York time.

You can save your file as an F3d file from inside Fusion 360 by going file export:

Once you have this file saved to your hard drive upload it here or send me a PM and I will give you my email address.

I would discourage you from patterning in the sketch environment. While it does work, patterning in sketches can slow Fusion 360 down and in this case you'd have to do a lot of triming in the sketch.

That can be had cheaper 😉

If I get around it tonight I'll make a screencast how I'd approach it.

Yes, you are right, Fusion 360 slooooooows down a lot and the spinning beach ball keeps spinning ...

Attached is a .f3d , which you can open after download directly with "New design from file".

1. I created a cylinder
2. then a polygon body
3. that was patterned
4. the pattern was cut to size (smaller ID than the tube)
5. the left over bodies wer cut away from the solid cylinder with "Modify->combine"

Here is a little screencast that quickly goes over the process, but it's main purpose is really to report a bug or two in hte pattern tool, unfortunately.

This is wat I like as a design.

Thank you for taking the time to help me in this design, but I downloaded the attached file an try to open it.

My Inventer Fusion application says that it can open it because the version is out dated.

How can I open the file in Fusion 360?

I looks very good when I open it in as a picture

Any idea how to go forward?

I looked to the screencast ant it looks easier than it in real is.

Hi,

I toggled a little around and the only thing I manage in demensions is the Lenght.

The messurement are ø78 x L=125 mm.

I can't find out how to select the diameter to decreced to ø78 mm.

The demention of the honeycomb doen't matter becauce these are not reletive to the demonstration model I like to print in 3D.

Any remarks or help are mostly welcome.

I suggest you start going through the introductory video tutporials on the "Learn" section.

I'll see if I have time tonight to make that model a littel more parametric.

Hi, Good morning

I went to the learn section and watch the videos.

I mus say this is very interesting to understand the basics elements in Fusion 360.

I started to draw some basic elements and starting to understand the posibilities in Fusion 360.

That does not mean that I able to draw the honeycombs in the pipe as I like to print this in 3D.

Therefore I like to ask you if you did find the time to look over the design again?

The design you sent me "posted here" I try to manilulate as a learning session to understand Fusion 360.

I hope to hear from you in a couple of days.

I appriciate the time and effort you putting in this design to help me out.
