The system requirements were not modified for this release. I'd like to point out that these are NOT recommendations, these are requirements. The requirements have not changed greatly since Fusion was launched. Only the OS requirements have updated over time.
I'm quite shocked that you have not experienced any issues before this update with this hardware configuration. Is there any chance that the error reporting system is collecting information in an incorrect manner and I'm mistaken about your computer's hardware? It looks like it is a 2007 iMac, is that correct?
Can you confirm that your system does have 256 MB of graphics memory?
If this true, this means you have been able to use Fusion 360 on a system that doesn't meet the minimum requirements up until this update. In other words, you've been running on borrowed time.
I'm not sure if you previously did anything to tune Fusion 360 preferences or in Mac OS that allowed Fusion 360 to run on the system, but you may want to revisit any previously made modifications to system and software preferences.
Have you tried any of the suggestion in the performance and stability collection?
- A good place to start would be to use OpenGL driver in Fusion 360 general preferences (instead of "OpenGLcore" or "auto-detect" settings, preventing high resolution display, etc.. )?
- Using the Limit Effects to Optimize Performance in the Help > Graphics Diagnostic panel to see if it helps.
- You can try using Fusion 360 in a smaller window, this will reduce graphics requirements. Don't use full screen, especially on an iMac since the monitor is large.
- You can try shutting down all background processes on your that could be eating up additional resources.
- A system restart may be a good idea as well.
- You can try using the Open in Low Resolution setting for Fusion, but I don't think this option is enabled in the OS because of the age of the hardware (not a retina display).
Even if any of these suggestions work, I would still recommend updating the hardware. The issue will only get re-occur or get worse in the future if you manage to use the above suggestions to work around the issue.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help as best as I'm able to.
