So, I've been struggling for hours trying to figure out why Design Review 2018 is so mind-numbingly slow. I was able to open an .ipt, .iam or .idw dwf file but they were incredibly slow. After poking around on here some, I tried a few things like uninstalling and reinstalling, but with no luck. I then decided maybe it was a graphics driver problem and I downloaded the latest drivers for the graphics card. That seemed to work fine. I rebooted the machine and now I can get Design Review to open ok, but when I try to open an .ipt.dwf or an .iam.dwf it throws up a crash error report screen. If I open an.idw.dwf it will open it and work fine. At first I thought maybe the assembly I was trying to open was to large and so I tried a single part, but it also crashed. I have no problems at all on other machines, but the particular laptop I'm working on does have an older, slower processor, but it still has 8GB of RAM and it ran AutoCAD before. I'm just using it as view only machine for the shop guys. I had even tried installing 2013 before and it was still slower than molasses and it also crashed. Seems like updating the graphics driver might have caused the crashing issue, but it was so slow before that it was useless anyway. Any ideas how I can get Design Review to work?
