My Tool Library is not cooperating

My tool library does not work like the various help files suggest. Perhaps I have changed something. I do not see it as a file tree and cannot change the names of libraries for example and I am even having trouble finding the files on my computer. I do still have great long lists of tools available. HELP, please.

Hello,

Can you explain your workflow a little more here?

Any of the tool libraries under "Samples" or "Vendors" in your attached picture can't be modified, as those are read only libraries with some tools to help you get started.

In order to make modifications to your own tools/libraries, you should add a library to either the "Local" folder, or the Cloud folder (has to be enabled by going to <Username>->Preferences->General->CAM->Enable Cloud Libraries). You can also make modifications to tools in your associated "Document Library" which is what Untitled is in your picture.

You can't rename the document libraries, because those are specifically based on the design files you have open. However, you can add and edit tools from your document library by using the +tool buttons in the top right.

To add a new library to the Cloud or Local grouping, click on either "Cloud" or "Local" and press the +library button in the top left.

Let me know if you need more help getting up and running with the Tool Library - noah.balsmeyer@autodesk.com

Thanks,

Noah

Also, I didn't mention this before. You can drag and drop tools from the Samples and Vendors folders into your own libraries (Document, Local, or Cloud) and those libraries will be copied to whichever library you dropped them in.

Hope this helps.

Noah
