Hi, my name is Anina. I live in Centurion, in South Africa. I have worked on most of the Autodesk products, but am currently using AutoCad LT, which is very frustrating after working on Factory Design. I would like to find out more about solutions for pipe lines and fittings.

Welcome @Anonymous,

Nice to have another South African here! How is South Africa this time of year? It has always been on my places to visit.

I could definitely see how going from Factory Design Suite to AutoCAD LT would result in some limitations. You may want to explore the posibility of checking out AutoCAD MEP for pipe and fittings work. What kind of work do you do?

Hi Mathew,

I'm glad you like South Africa. You should come and visit, we have the best
weather in the whole world. It is middle winter here, and our temperatures
are between 6 and 18 degrees Celsius.

I work in the gas industry. In South Africa gas is not big. Most people
still cook with electricity. But all the restaurants and a lot of factories
need gas and diesel. Before they can install it, I design the installation
and pipework and get the drawings approved by local Fire Departments.

The clients aren't very keen on 3D designs, because they are much more
expensive than 2D, but I would like to try getting a few installations done
with Navisworks to show them the possibilities.

Thank you for the help, I will check out MEP.

What do you do? And where are you from?

Kind regards,

Anina Pieterse

Hi @Anonymous,

Great to have you here also! Sounds like a big undertaking Matjaz. Is there any specific area of computer design that you are focusing?
