XREFREGAPPCTL has helped CAD managers greatly reduce the risk of regapp spread xrefs and drawing corruption in projects. This is a request for a similar functionality to prevent materials, plotstyles, blocks, (basically anything that can be removed through -Purge) from spreading through xrefs.
This is more of an AutoCAD request, but AutoCAD has no Idea Station for some reason...
