A process that would create a surface from cross sections would help on the survey and construction side of things. To reverse engineer a model with provided cross sections would speed up the modeling process tremendously. Other software like Carlson and TBC have this fuction, and there was a plug-in for Civil 3D at one time here. However has been since discontinued.
