Volume Surface: Change which surface(s) get used for comparison purposes.

The way C3D works right now is that if I want to change which surface(s) a volume surface uses for comparison purposes, I have to DELETE and recreate the volume surface.  It would be very helpful if I could go to the Definition tab of the volume surface, select one (or both) of the surfaces and replace with new surface(s).

I agree, this would be quite helpful.

There is a workaround for this which you might not be aware of. You can create a blank surface and paste your other surface onto it, this new surface can be used to create a volume surface whilst allowing you to swap out the pasted surface for a different one if needed.

@JDB423,

Yes.  I routinely use this -- we refer to the blank surface into which the "other surface" is pasted a "SHELL SURFACE".  But unfortunately, I frequently run into a drawing that already has a volume surface directly referencing two surfaces -- when I need to change the referenced surface(s), I have to recreate the Volume surface.  😞
