Because WEEDFEATURES doesn't always work as it should and one have to apply the function several (and I mean several) times until the feature line is "really weeded" (i.e. it says 4000 of 5000 points will be weeded, but only 100 points are finally weeded). Because of this, they should add to DELETEELEVPOINT the "Partial" option (not just "[All]"), to have more control over the erasing points, it would be really useful on large 3D lines.
