Swap Multiple Parts

Swap Multiple Parts

Hello Everyone,

I would like to have a feature that could swap multiple parts out of the box in Civil 3D, this can be done with a $300 application available in the store. So why not directly in C3D.

Swaping parts 1 by 1 in the complete model takes ages and while working on projects these changes come every now and then and eventually delivery suffers.

I would really appreciate if the developers can help us out in the next update.

Regards,

Jatin

Allow to execute 'Swap Parts' process for multiple pipe network structures at once in Civil 3D.

@michal.holda.  It would be nice to have this built in. In the mean time you can do this with Parts Swapper in the CIM Project Suite from CTC Software. It is a free tool.

Built for all Civil 3D Pipe Network users, this tool allows the swapping of multiple parts, both Structures and Pipes, for alternatives. Users can select parts in Plan, Profile View, or by Pipe Network name. Parts will be swapped similar to the native Swap Parts command, but allows it to be performed on multiple parts at a time.

  • Swap multiple Parts, both Pipes and Structures, in a single command
  • Select in Plan, Profile View or by Pipe Network
  • Update entire sections of your Pipe Networks at once

Still nothing built in to do this?  Still need 3rd party software?

Check out project explorer (PE) which is built-in now since 2024 and newer 👍

Just what I was looking for!  What a time saver

Project Explorer is the way to go! Quick tutorial for the workflow here:  https://youtu.be/-rJ0pUDfvVY

The trick I've found helpful is renaming your parts using the Rename Network Parts tool. That helps you find the right structures in project explorer, especially if you have a bunch of branches in your pipe network.
